Step by Step on how to make the optical bonding display?
Optical bonding refers to a technique that involves injecting a specialized adhesive between the display glass or touch screen and TFT liquid crystal panel, and then coating it with a layer of resin (OCR) or film (OCA) to create a solid laminate that is free from gaps or bubbles. When selecting screens for any project, it is important to consider the environmental and operational conditions that the screens will be subjected to. Industrial-grade screen and panel PCs are built to be rugged and come with a range of features that enable them to withstand a variety of applications. One feature that may be worth considering is optical bonding.
Optical bonding screen and the open frame moniotr is widely used in a variety of industries, including medical, military, transportation, and retail, and outdoor signage display where high-performance displays are necessary due to harsh environments. It is particularly suitable for industries that require robust displays in high-reliability environments or that need to use displays in bright ambient light conditions. The optical bonding process is particularly useful and efficient for equipment that operates outdoors or in bright light.
1.LCM Inspection & TP Inspection
- Examine the panel for internal dust or surface scratches.
- Verify that the iron frame is level.
- Inspect for dead or bright pixels on the screen.
- Check for surface scratches or damage to the flat cable.
- Ensure that the touch functionality is working properly.
2.LCM Black Glue Injection
- Apply black or UV sealant glue (as per customer requirements) around the LCM frame to prevent organic silicone glue from entering the panel during injection.
3.Remove Black Glue
After the black glue injection, any excess glue must be carefully removed to ensure that it does not interfere with the panel’s functionality. The excess black glue can be removed using specialized tools and techniques to avoid damaging the panel or leaving any residue.
4.Inject Organic Silicone Glue
- Take extra care to avoid creating bubbles when injecting organic silicone glue.
- For inverted displays, ensure that the white glue is uniformly distributed on the screen.
5.Baking
Bake the panel in an oven at 60℃ for 50 minutes after injecting the organic silicone glue to cure and ensure proper adhesion. Monitor the panel during baking to prevent damage and allow it to cool to room temperature before proceeding.
6.Clean Glue
Remove any glue residue from the panel surface using a combination of alcohol and specialized cleaning glue. The process must be conducted carefully to avoid damaging the panel. Once the residue is removed, the panel can proceed to the next stage of manufacturing.
7.Inject Black Glue
Clean the panel surface using alcohol and specialized cleaning glue before applying black glue to ensure even distribution and prevent excess glue. Use specialized tools and techniques and conduct the process carefully to avoid damage or residue. Finally, inspect the panel to ensure quality standards are met.
8.QC Test
Conduct a final inspection to ensure the panel is free of defects that may impact its performance or appearance. Check for dust, scratches, dead/bright pixels, and test touch functionality. This step is crucial to meet quality standards and deliver a high-quality product to the customer.
